Ingredients
Caramel Miso Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets
- Garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons cooking oil
Caramel miso
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon miso paste
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger - grated
Method
Caramel Miso Salmon
- Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Season with garlic salt and pepper - set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine all the caramel miso ingredients together. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes or until the caramel has thickened.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the salmon, skin side down for 3 minutes.
- Flip the salmon and cook for a further 2 minutes. The salmon will still be pink in the middle so cook for longer if preferred.
- Serve the salmon fillets glazed with the miso caramel.
