Steak on Truffle Mash with Garlic Butter Mushrooms
- 2 x steaks of your choice
- Garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Drizzle of olive oil
Truffle Mash
- 600g potatoes - peeled and quartered
- 15g butter
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup cream
- 2 tablespoons truffle oil plus extra for drizzling
Garlic Butter Mushrooms
- 40g butter
- 350g brown button mushrooms - halved
- Garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic - crushed
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley - chopped
Method
Steak on Truffle Mash with Garlic Butter Mushrooms
- Boil the potatoes in salted boiling water until tender. Drain, add in the butter and place the lid back on to steam the potatoes for a few minutes.
- Mash the potatoes and add as much cream as needed to get a creamy mash. Stir through the truffle oil.
- Season the steaks with garlic salt and pepper. Drizzle with a little oil.
- Heat a pan over a high heat and sear the steaks on both sides until cooked to your liking. Set aside on a warm plate covered with foil.
- Garlic butter mushrooms - heat the butter in the same pan. Sauté the mushrooms with a little garlic salt and pepper for about 4 - 5 minutes.
- Add in the garlic and cook for a further minute. Stir through the parsley.
- Place some truffle mash onto a plate and top with a steak. Top with the garlic mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle oil.
