Ingredients
For the chocolate chip cookies
- 3 cups flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 240g butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks
Method
For the chocolate chip cookies
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan bake). Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- Cream together the butter and both kinds of sugar until light and creamy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla essence until fluffy.
- Mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
- Add the chocolate and mix well.
- Roll 2–3 tablespoons of mixture at a time into balls.
- Place the balls onto the prepared baking trays, with enough room to spread.
- Flatten each ball with the base of a glass.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until they turn a light brown.
