Easy Cheese Bread

For the Easy Cheese Bread

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 65g cold butter
  • 1 cup tasty cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese — grated
  • 1 spring onion — finely chopped (or any 1 tablespoon of any dried herb)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar


For the Easy Cheese Bread

  • Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan bake).
  • Whisk dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Grate the butter into the dry ingredients. Stir in the cheeses and the onion (or dried herbs).
  • In a separate bowl whisk the eggs then add the milk and sugar.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir until just moistened, do not overmix.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
