Ham & Cheese Scones

  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 100g ham - finely diced
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup soda water
  • Butter for serving

Method

Ham & Cheese Scones

  • Preheat the oven to 220oC (200oC fan bake). Place baking paper on a baking tray.
  • Place the flour, caster sugar and salt in a large bowl and whisk together.
  • Mix in the grated cheese and ham.
  • Add the cream and soda water and mix to form a soft dough.
  • Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly to combine.
  • Press the dough out with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm.
  • Use a 6cm round cutter to cut out 8 scones. Place the scones onto the baking tray.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Serve warm with butter.
