Ham & Cheese Scones
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 100g ham - finely diced
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/2 cup soda water
- Butter for serving
Method
Ham & Cheese Scones
- Preheat the oven to 220oC (200oC fan bake). Place baking paper on a baking tray.
- Place the flour, caster sugar and salt in a large bowl and whisk together.
- Mix in the grated cheese and ham.
- Add the cream and soda water and mix to form a soft dough.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly to combine.
- Press the dough out with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm.
- Use a 6cm round cutter to cut out 8 scones. Place the scones onto the baking tray.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
- Serve warm with butter.
