Ingredients

Spaghetti Bolognese

  • 1 - 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion - diced
  • 2 carrots - peeled and cut into a small dice
  • 6 cloves garlic - crushed
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 400g can Italian flavoured tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water - mixed with 2 teaspoons powdered chicken stock
  • Pinch chilli
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • Spaghetti pasta, cooked, to serve
  • Shaved parmesan to serve

Method

Spaghetti Bolognese

  • Heat the oil in a large pan over a high heat. Add in the mice and break it up as it browns.
  • Add in the onion and carrot and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add in the garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients except for the spinach and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the spinach and simmer for a few more minutes until the spinach is wilted.
  • Serve over cooked spaghetti and sprinkle with shaved parmesan.
