  • 1 medium cabbage
  • Garlic salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1½ cups cream
  • ¼ cup horseradish cream
  • ⅓ cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Method

For the cabbage wedges with creamy horseradish sauce

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan bake).
  • Remove some of the outer leaves of the cabbage and arrange them like a nest in a stovetop-safe casserole dish.
  • Cut the remaining cabbage into 8 wedges and arrange in the casserole dish, pointed edge upwards. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
  • Whisk together the cream, horseradish and wine and pour over the cabbage.
  • Dot the butter over the cabbage.
  • Cover and cook on the stovetop over a high heat for 5 minutes.
  • Uncover and spoon the sauce over the cabbage.
  • Transfer to the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
