A cheese fondue is a fun way to gather friends and family together. Serve with blanched broccoli, beans, cauliflower, asparagus, French bread or Crispy Chicken Tenders on skewers.



For the cheese fondue

  • 1 cup white wine (I use sauvignon blanc)
  • 1 clove garlic — finely chopped
  • 250g maasdam cheese — grated
  • 400g gruyere-style cheese — grated
  • Finely grated nutmeg, to taste


For the cheese fondue

  • Put the wine and garlic in a saucepan over a low heat and bring to a simmer.
  • Add the maasdam in batches, stirring vigorously as it melts.
  • Once melted, add the gruyere-style cheese in batches.
  • Grate a little nutmeg over the top and stir through.
  • Transfer to a fondue set, top with a little more nutmeg and enjoy.
