These crispy, cheesy bites of broccoli have become a regular feature of our meals at Tangleby.



For the crispy cheese-baked broccoli

  • 1–2 heads broccoli
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated tasty cheese
  • ¼ cup finely grated parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling


For the crispy cheese-baked broccoli

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan bake). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Cut the broccoli into bite-size florets.
  • Whisk the eggs and milk in a medium bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and both cheeses with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder and pepper.
  • Dip each piece of broccoli in the egg mixture until well coated, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture to coat.
  • Arrange on the prepared tray and drizzle with a little oil. Bake for 18–25 minutes until crispy.
