Crumbed Pork Chops

Crumbing and oven baking results in pork chops that are succulent on the inside and crispy on the outside.


  • 4 thick pork chops or cutlets
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1½ teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Mustard or applesauce, to serve (optional)


  • Preheat oven to 210°C (190°C fan bake).
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • To prepare the pork, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic salt, onion powder, paprika, sugar and pepper in a large plastic bag.
  • Add two chops and toss to coat well. Place on the prepared tray. Repeat with the other two chops.
  • Drizzle the chops with the oil.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, then turn and bake for an additional 10–12 minutes.
  • Serve with mustard or applesauce if desired.
