A very popular recipe in our house. Just check that your peanut butter is free of the sugar substitute xylitol, which is poisonous to dogs.

Ingredients

For the dog cookies

  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 very ripe banana — mashed
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter
  • 1½ teaspoons milk

Method

For the dog cookies

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan bake). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. You may need to use your hands for this.
  • Tip out onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to 1cm thickness.
  • Cut out the cookies using a cookie cutter and arrange on the prepared tray.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
