Easy Creamy Pasta

Dinner doesn’t get much easier than this super-quick pasta dish.



  • 300g ready-made ravioli or tortellini – any flavour
  • 60g butter
  • 1 onion – diced
  • ⅔ cup sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cloves garlic – crushed
  • ¼ cup white wine
  • ¾ cup cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan, plus extra to serve
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh basil, to serve


  • Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions. Drain, reserving ½ cup cooking water. Set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a large pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and mushrooms and sauté for 3–4 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the wine and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the cream and parmesan and simmer, stirring constantly, until the parmesan is melted and the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Season with pepper.
  • Stir in the pasta and a splash of the reserved pasta cooking water and cook until just heated through.
  • Serve topped with the basil and extra parmesan.
