The addition of honey gives this bread a delicious depth of flavour.
Ingredients
For the honey beer bread
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 340ml beer
- 1⁄4 cup honey — slightly warmed so it is liquid
- 50g butter — melted
Method
For the honey beer bread
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan bake).
- Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Slowly add the beer and honey and stir until combined.
- Brush half the melted butter around the inside of a 21 x 10cm loaf tin.
- Add the bread mixture and spread evenly.
- Brush the remaining melted butter over the top.
- Bake for 40–50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Leave to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the tin.
