Ingredients

For the irish coffee

  • ½ cup cream
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 cups hot black coffee
  • About ½ cup Irish whiskey

Method

For the irish coffee

  • Whip the cream, sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  • Place a teaspoon of brown sugar into each of 4 heatproof glasses.
  • Half fill each glass with hot coffee and stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • Add your desired amount of whiskey to each glass.
  • Top up with the remaining coffee.
  • Top with the whipped cream to serve.
