Sliders are quick and easy to make when you have hungry mouths to feed. I like to leave the bread rolls joined together and fill and bake them as one slab, before cutting them into single rolls to serve.

For the italian sliders

  • 12 bread rolls
  • ⅓–½ cup pizza sauce
  • 300g mozzarella — grated
  • 1 red onion — thinly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum — thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 200g Italian salami — sliced
  • 200g shaved ham

For the italian sliders

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (155°C fan bake). Spray a dish large enough to hold all the bread rolls with baking spray.
  • Use a long bread knife to cut horizontally through the centre of the slab of bread rolls.
  • Place the base layer on the prepared dish and spread with pizza sauce.
  • Sprinkle with half the mozzarella.
  • Top with the red onion, capsicum, Italian herbs, salami and ham.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella.
  • Replace the bread roll tops and bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Cut into individual rolls to serve.
