The mousse is silky smooth and the Oreos add a lovely touch of fun.
Ingredients
For the mousse
- 350g cream cheese
- 180g condensed milk
- 170g dark chocolate — melted
- 1 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 175g Oreo cookies — halved, plus extra to decorate
For the cookie base
- 350g Oreo cookies — crushed
- 75g butter — melted
For the vanilla cream
- ½ cup cream
- 1 teaspoon icing sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
For the oreo chocolate mousse tart
- To make the Cookie Base, mix the crushed cookies with the butter. Press into a 25cm-diameter round tart dish.
- To make the mousse, whisk the cream cheese until soft. Mix in the condensed milk and melted chocolate.
- Whip the cream and vanilla in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Fold into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour half the mousse mixture over the base, arrange the halved Oreo cookies on top, then finish with the remaining mousse mixture.
- Refrigerate for 4 hours or until set.
- To make the Vanilla Cream, whip the cream, icing sugar and vanilla to soft peaks.
- To serve, dust the mousse with cocoa, pipe Vanilla Cream around the rim and decorate with extra cookies.
