These make for a very tasty starter. They can be either pan-fried or deep-fried.

Ingredients
For the pork dumplings
- 250g pork mince
- 1 cup finely chopped coleslaw mix
- 1 tablespoon finely diced red onion
- ¼ cup chicken stock
- 1½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
- 1½ tablespoons sesame oil
- 1½ teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 500g dumpling wrappers
- Cooking oil, for frying
For the asian dipping sauce
- ½ cup rice wine vinegar
- ⅓ cup light soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- Toasted sesame seeds, to sprinkle
Method
For the pork dumplings with dipping sauce
- To make the Asian Dipping Sauce, mix all the ingredients in a small bowl. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- To make the dumplings, place all the ingredients, except the wrappers and cooking oil, in a large bowl and mix to combine.
- Working in batches, lay out a few dumpling wrappers and place a teaspoon of mixture into the centre of each. Fold over and seal with your fingers by dipping your fingers into warm water.
- Heat the oil in a pan or saucepan.
- When it is very hot, pan-fry or deep-fry the dumplings in batches until golden brown.
- Serve with the Asian Dipping Sauce.
