Ingredients
For the slow-cooker mulled wine
- 2 x 750ml bottles red wine
- 100ml Cointreau
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 whole cloves
- 3 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Zest of 2 oranges — peeled with a vegetable peeler
- Zest of 1 lemon — peeled with a vegetable peeler
- Juice of 2 oranges
- Orange slices, to serve
Method
For the slow-cooker mulled wine
- Put all the ingredients except the orange slices in a slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 1½–2 hours until hot.
- Leave the slow cooker on ‘keep warm’ setting.
- Ladle into heatproof glasses and serve with a slice of orange.
