Buttermilk Chicken Tenders with BBQ Dipping Sauce
- 600g chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk - or 1 tablespoon lemon juice mixed with 1 cup milk - leave for 10 minutes
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
- Pinch cayenne pepper
- 2 eggs - whisked
- Cooking oil for deep frying
BBQ Dipping Sauce
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup bbq sauce
Method
Buttermilk Chicken Tenders with BBQ Dipping Sauce
- Marinate the chicken tenders in the buttermilk for one hour.
- Whisk all the dry ingredients together.
- Dip each chicken tender into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture and again in the flour mixture.
- Heat the oil to a medium/high temperature and deep fry the chicken until golden and cooked through.
- Season with a little extra garlic salt.
- Mix the dipping sauce ingredients together and serve with the chicken.
