Guinness & Treacle 10 minute Bread
- 250g flour
- 200g wholemeal flour
- 50g rolled oats - plus extra for topping
- 1 1/2 teaspoons each: salt, baking soda
- 285g buttermilk - or add 1 tablespoon lemon juice to 285ml milk and leave for 5 minutes.
- 125ml Guinness or other stout
- 50g treacle
Method
Guinness & Treacle 10 Minute Bread
- Preheat oven to 180oC (160oC fan bake). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- To a mixer with a dough hook mix the dry ingredients together.
- Add in the buttermilk. Whisk the Guinness with the treacle and add in.
- Mix for 3 minutes.
- Roll the dough out onto a floured surface and shape into a ball and place on the prepared tray.
- Cut a cross well through the dough. Sprinkle with some extra rolled oats.
- Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until golden.
