Ingredients

Hawaiian Pork Chops

  • 4 pork chops
  • Garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons each: tomato sauce, brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornflour
  • 225g tin pineapple slices in juice
  • 2 cloves garlic - crushed
  • Good pinch ground ginger

Method

Hawaiian Pork Chops

  • In a small bowl, whisk all the sauce ingredients together - set aside the pineapple slices but whisk in the juice.
  • Season the pork chops with the garlic salt and pepper. Drizzle with the cooking oil.
  • Heat a large frying pan over a high heat.
  • Brown the pineapple slices in the pan - set aside.
  • Sear the pork chops for 2 - 3 minutes on each side.
  • Place a pineapple ring on top of each pork chop. Pour over the sauce and cook for 1 minute.
  • Serve each pork chop with a pineapple ring and some sauce.
