Ingredients
Jin Dou Pork
- 750g pork fillet - cut into 1/2 cm slices
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
Marinade
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon each: cornflour, oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon each: sugar, salt, sesame oil
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons water
Sauce
- 1/3 cup each: tomato sauce, plum sauce
- 3 tablespoons each: balsamic vinegar, sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon 5-spice
- 100ml water
- Rice for serving
Method
Jin Dou Pork
- Whisk all the marinade ingredients together and marinate the pork for at least 3 hours.
- In a small saucepan, whisk all the sauce ingredients together and simmer for 4 minutes - set aside.
- In a large frying pan or wok, heat the oil over a high heat.
- Brown the pork in batches for 2 - 3 minutes each side - set aside.
- Tip out any remaining oil from the frying pan or wok.
- Over a medium heat, add the pork back in the sauce and simmer for 1 minute until the pork is warmed through.
- Serve with rice.
