Ingredients

Sausages with Balsamic Onion Gravy

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 30g butter
  • 2 red onions - sliced
  • 2 brown onions - sliced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 8 pork sausages
  • 2/3 cup each: chicken stock, red wine

Method

Sausages with Balsamic Onion Gravy

  • Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan, over a medium/low heat.
  • Add in the onions and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add in the balsamic vinegar and sugar and cook for 5 minutes.
  • In another pan, brown the sausages. They don't need to be cooked right through.
  • To the onions, add in the chicken stock, red wine and the sausages.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.
