Sausages with Balsamic Onion Gravy
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 30g butter
- 2 red onions - sliced
- 2 brown onions - sliced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 8 pork sausages
- 2/3 cup each: chicken stock, red wine
Method
Sausages with Balsamic Onion Gravy
- Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan, over a medium/low heat.
- Add in the onions and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add in the balsamic vinegar and sugar and cook for 5 minutes.
- In another pan, brown the sausages. They don't need to be cooked right through.
- To the onions, add in the chicken stock, red wine and the sausages.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.
