Ingredients
Meatballs
- 550g pork mince
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon each: garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon chilli flakes
Sweet & Sour Sauce
- 432g can pineapple pieces in juice - juice only
- 1/4 cup each: light soy sauce, water
- 2 tablespoons each: soy sauce, tomato sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, cornflour
Stir Fry
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 red pepper - cut into chunks
- 1 red onion - cut into chunks
- Pineapple pieces from the drained can
- Rice for serving
Method
Sweet & Sour Pork Meatballs
- Combine all the meatball ingredients together. Roll into balls then refrigerate.
- In a small bowl, whisk the sauce ingredients together - set aside.
- In a large wok, heat the oil over medium/high heat. Sauté the meatballs until well browned (about 10 minutes). Set aside.
- Add a little more oil to the wok if needed and sauté the red pepper and red onion for a few minutes. Add in the pineapple pieces and the sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the meatballs back into the wok and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs and sauce with rice.
