Introduction for April

Introduction for April

Welcome to the April edition of the Tangleby Recipe, Garden and Kids' Club.

We are all very excited here with the Easter Egg Hunt and morning tea quickly approaching.

All members are welcome and if you are a member from out of the Canterbury region you can gift the invitation to any family or friends in the area. Please just let us know the numbers. We need to let the Tangleby Easter Bunny know how many Easter eggs are required!

We also have another charity bake sale for Aviva on Tuesday 29th April. Please pre-order early as we know many of you missed out last time.

In the recipes this month, I have added in beef paprikash. This is a great way to use up some of those capsicums that are producing so well at this time of the year.

My apple and rhubarb crumble is a must try too - all from the garden of course.

I have been blessed again with another gorgeous granddaughter. Maia was born on 17th March. She is just gorgeous and is very much loved by her, nearly 3 year old brother, Charlie.

Mr Tangleby's first two copies of his book have arrived. This is absolutely stunning and a real credit to the volume of work he has dedicated to this project.

We will be in Marlborough for the Heritage Festival in May, to launch his book.

This is an absolutely lovely time in the garden. I am busy collecting seeds from the dill, beans, watermelon, sweet peas, dianthus, cosmos, calendula and viscaria.

I use the brown paper bags that you get at the supermarket to store them in to dry. One good shake of the bag later on in the year will yield enough seeds for the upcoming season.

Happy cooking, gardening, crafting and being the best person you can be!
